A New Chapter in Green Research Begins; ABTEC & KFRI EoI Signing.

On 19th December 2025, ABTEC signed an Expression of Interest (EoI) with the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi, to jointly explore the feasibility and commercial potential of biochar production from sustainable feedstocks, with the intent to engage in technology transfer, service engagement, or co-development.
The EoI was signed in the presence of Dr. Kannan C.S. Warrier, Director, KFRI and Dr. Hemand Aravind, Research Head, ABTEC Ltd and was formally witnessed by Hon’ble Revenue Minister Shri K. Rajan and Shri M. C. Dathan, Scientific Adviser to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala.

This partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs by offering training programs, workshops, internships, and collaborative research opportunities in sustainable product development from emerging natural resources.Through this EoI, KFRI extends its academic expertise to industry, opening new avenues for sustainable solutions through cutting-edge technologies.The collaboration will also support faculty members from both institutions in jointly applying for government-funded projects and technical skill development initiatives.
