Industry Visit by Kristu Jyoti College of Management & Technology
Pursuant to the request received from the Department of Management Studies, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology (KJCMT), an academic industry visit was successfully organized at the ABTEC Innovation Centre on 23 July 2026. The visit aimed to provide undergraduate and postgraduate management students with practical exposure to industrial innovation, entrepreneurship, research and advanced manufacturing practices.
The faculty members and students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Bibin Jacob, Managing Directorand Dr. Hemand Aravind, Research Head. During the interaction session, the students gained valuable insights into ABTEC’s entrepreneurial journey, business strategies, research initiatives and the role of innovation in developing sustainable biotechnology solutions.
As part of the visit, the participants toured the Microbiology Department and the Green Chemistry Department, where they were introduced to the research and product development activities undertaken by the organization. They also had the opportunity to visit ABTEC’s pilot scale production unit, enabling them to understand the process of transforming laboratory research into commercially viable products.
The visit successfully bridged classroom learning with real world industrial practices, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of business management, scientific research, innovation and technology commercialization. The interaction was highly engaging and offered valuable inspiration for students to explore future opportunities in management, entrepreneurship and research driven industries.
