St. GITS Chemical Engineering Students at ABTEC Innovation Centre
A group of students from the Chemical Engineering Department of St. GITS College of Engineering paid a fascinating visit to the ABTEC Innovation Centre. This visit was part of their academic curriculum to deepen their understanding of real world applications in chemical engineering, particularly in the fields of Green Chemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology.
The highlight of the visit was an in-depth lecture delivered by Dr. Hemand Aravind, the Head of Research at ABTEC. He covered various topics, including advancements in green chemistry, microbial processes in chemical engineering and how interdisciplinary research is shaping the future of industries. His insights into the importance of sustainable practices and the integration of microbiology into chemical engineering were both inspiring and thought-provoking.
The students were introduced to the state-of-the-art facilities within the Innovation Centre. They had a detailed interaction with the Green Chemistry Department, where they got to explore the revolutionary practices that are shaping the future of chemical engineering with an eco-friendly approach. The department showcased various projects focusing on sustainable chemical processes, waste reduction and green alternatives to traditional chemical products and practices, which aims to minimize environmental harm while maximizing efficiency.
Next, the students had the opportunity to engage with the Microbiology Department at ABTEC.
