ABTEC – St. Pius X College MOU Opens New Frontiers for Students.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Agro Bio Tech Research Centre Ltd (ABTEC Ltd), Kottayam and St. Pius X College, Rajapuram, Kasargod marks a significant step toward strengthening industry academia collaboration and creating meaningful opportunities for aspiring bioscience students.
Signed by Bibin Jacob, Managing Director, ABTEC Ltd and Associate Professor Dr. Vinod N V, Head of The Department Microbiology, St. Pius X College, in the presence of Dr. Sinosh Scariyachan and Dr. Hemand Aravind this partnership is designed to provide students with practical exposure, hands on training and real-world research experience an essential complement to classroom learning. This MOU was initiated by Dr. Sinosh Scariyachan who, following his earlier visit to the ABTEC Innovation Centre, played a key role in establishing this collaboration.
One of the key merits of this MOU is the early integration of students into a professional research environment. As part of the first phase, 10 microbiology students are already undertaking their first-year projects at the ABTEC Innovation Centre. This exposure enables them to:
- Work with advanced laboratory infrastructure and modern biotechnological tools.
- Understand industry relevant applications of microbiology.
- Develop critical research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
The collaboration also enhances employability and career readiness. By engaging directly with ongoing projects and experts students gain insights into current industry challenges and expectations, making them better prepared for future roles in research, production and innovation.
