Plant Details

Peas are cool-season legumes grown for their tender pods and seeds. They thrive in temperatures between 10–25°C and require well-drained, fertile loamy soil with good organic content. Peas are typically planted in early spring or fall and mature in 60–80 days. The crop is consumed fresh, frozen, or canned and is used in soups, stews, and salads. Peas are rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, supporting digestion and overall health. The plants also improve soil fertility through nitrogen fixation, making them a valuable crop in sustainable farming. Proper irrigation, pest control, and support structures are necessary for high yields. Peas are an important commercial crop in temperate regions worldwide.
