Plant Details

Litchi is a tropical and subtropical fruit known for its sweet, juicy flesh and floral aroma. It thrives in warm, humid climates with temperatures ranging from 20–30°C and requires well-drained, slightly acidic loamy soil. Litchi trees demand regular irrigation during dry periods and benefit from mulching to retain soil moisture. The fruit is consumed fresh, dried, or used in juices, jams, and desserts. Rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and dietary fiber, litchi promotes overall health and boosts immunity. The trees begin fruiting within 3–5 years, and the harvest season is usually short. Proper pruning and pest management are crucial for high yields. Its unique taste and nutritional benefits make litchi a popular fruit in domestic and international markets.
